RIM Architects celebrates the promotion of Michelle Gallagher, AIA LEED AP BD+C, to Associate. Over the last eight years, Michelle’s talents and enthusiasm have been leveraged across a range of project types. She served in key architectural roles on major projects like the Covenant House, Loussac Library and the Fireweed Business Center. She has contributed significantly to the RIM Alaska office, and has been working collaboratively with design staff across our footprint on various projects, particularly with the San Francisco office. Her willingness to lead on multiple design initiatives, as well as taking great care of our clients sets a professional example. In January 2017, after months of intense studying, Michelle successfully passed the A.R.E. and earned her architectural license in Alaska. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon.

Michelle has taken on key leadership roles in the professional community through involvement with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the Downtown Community Counsel, the annual Bike Anchorage event, and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Young Professional's Group (YPG). The YPG meets for monthly meetings and networking ventures providing Anchorage young professionals with an engaging social network to develop business skills & strategies, grow personally and professionally, and ultimately support the growth of future leaders in Anchorage and throughout Alaska. In 2013, she was the recipient of the Society of American Military Engineers [SAME] Regional Vice President's Medal for Outstanding Service to the Society - SAME 2013 Pacific & Northwest JETS, and championed for a RIM Architects SAME scholarship these past two years.

As an Associate, Michelle looks forward to taking on more responsibility throughout projects and embracing a new level of learning and firm leadership mentoring from our Principals and Associates. She is currently working as the Project Designer/Architect on a private sector whole-neighborhood housing project and corporate warehouse/office for ECO in Valdez, Alaska. Now that she isn’t studying for the A.R.E., Michelle plans to spend her time building a boat, biking, fishing and hiking.

Congratulations, Michelle!
